Watch Glasgow City lift the title this Sunday

Glasgow City welcome Celtic to Petershill Park on Sunday in joyous mood, knowing that after the match they will be officially crowned Scottish Champions and presented with the Premier League title.

City wrapped up the title with 3 games remaining after a 4-0 win away from home against Hibernian two weeks ago. Since then the Scottish Champions have knocked Celtic out of the Cup to reach the Scottish Cup final and travelled to Belgium to play Standard Liege in the UEFA Women’s Champions League last 32.

With so many big matches still to come, including next Thursday’s crucial 2nd leg tie against Standard Liege at home, City might have their eyes on matters other than Sunday’s game. However, whilst there is little doubt that the European tie takes precedence within the next week, City Head Coach Eddie Wolecki Black is confident his side will put on a show as they receive the title for an incredible seventh year in a row.

“With the League title already captured this weekend’s game may appear to be the most insignificant match played between the sides. However both teams still have a lot to aim for. It's true we may have different agendas but nevertheless it is still important for the players and staff of both teams. Having played against them last weekend we are well aware how difficult an opponent Celtic will be. There is no doubt we will need to play well if we are to be victorious. I am sure both sides will provide an entertaining spectacle.”

Glasgow City take on Celtic at 1.30pm this Sunday at Petershill Park, Adamswell Street, Springburn, Glasgow, G21 4DD. Cash gate – adults £5, concessions £3 and kids go free. Why not head along and see Scotland’s best be presented with the Championship trophy, meet the players and the City mascot – Trixie the Tiger.
