From them on, City ran out of steam as credit to their opponents, Celtic took the game by the scruff of the neck, going on to fire another seven past the City rear guard.
City Coach Sandy Cunningham commented on the match. He said, “To be honest, it was a game of two halves. We know we were up against a very good side today. We are a new team, but I was pleased with the effort of our girls, particular first half. Without doubt the better side won and after a few goals went in, it was clear to see the spirit went out of a few of our players. But we will pick our heads up and learn from this and work hard again in training as we have another tough match on Saturday at home to Kilwinning at Nethercraigs, 12.30pm kick off”.
