Two keepers join Glasgow City Development Team
Glasgow City’s new Development Team have signed goalkeepers Lauren Grant and Michelle Docherty.
Commenting on his latest additions, Development Lead Coach Andy Gardner said, “Myself and the coaches are delighted to have captured the signings of Lauren Grant from Queens Park and Michelle Docherty from Bishopton.
“Having previously worked with Lauren for the last 3 years I have seen her grow into fantastic keeper and enjoyed success with her at club level winning promotions and League titles.
“Lauren knows what it's like to play at the top level in Scotland having competed in the SWPL with both Kilmarnock and Queens Park and I believe that she can bring a real maturity to the team and a vast experience of knowledge from playing at this level.
“Michelle Docherty has turned out to be a diamond in the rough after contacting the club for a trial.
We identified straight away that Michelle was the correct fit for the club due to her professional manner and knowledge of the game. She has impressed the coaching staff with her commanding stature and great handling in training and we are delighted to say that we have captured her signature.
“Having two keepers commit to the team can only be a positive thing and competition for a starting place will help improve both immensely.”
