Katharina Lindner

Katharina Lindner is Glasgow City’s former German internationalist.

She grew up playing for 1. FFC Frankfurt, one of Europe’s most successful ever clubs, whom she played for until she was approached to go to America on a Soccer Scholarship aged 19.

Before leaving Germany, Katharina represented Germany at all youth levels from Under 16, Under 18 and Under 21, amassing over 50 caps.

In America she attended the University of Hartford and as Captain played in the most successful ever football side in the history of the University, when they reached the last eight of the National Championships – the national cup competition in the USA involving every top Division One University women’s football side.

On an individual level she was selected as an All-American – this is a fantasy type team made up of the top eleven players in the country voted for by every manager in the USA collegiate set up.

On moving to Scotland, Katharina has been highly successful at Glasgow City and was named Players Player of the Year in her first ever season.

On a personal level, she is now officially Dr. Katharina Lindner, having recently completed her PhD at the University of Glasgow and is currently lecturing on a part time basis at the University.

Rachel Corsie

Rachel Corsie joined Glasgow City last summer from Aberdeen, her first senior club. Having played most of her adult career in midfield, Rachel truly broke into the City team at the second stage of Europe, when playing as a centre half against some of Europe’s most elite sides.

Since Europe, Rachel has not looked back and has been a first pick on the City defensive team sheet since then. Her undoubted ability and confidence has led this season to recognition at senior international level and following her first call up to the A squad for the Cyprus Cup, Rachel has started every match for Anna Signeul’s side.

Rachel’s national pedigree is however nothing new, having last year been the Scotland Under 19 Captain and a firm member of the team for an impressive three years.

Rachel is currently studying Accountancy at Robert Gordon University as part of a prestigious sports scholarship made possible by Technip. One of only 15 students to receive the award, Rachel combines her academic studies with football training, strength and conditioning  as well as speed agility and quickness sessions.
