Title race heats up

The race for the Premier League title heats up this weekend when Hibernian and Glasgow City, the two leading sides in the table, come face to face.

Both teams proudly sit with maximum points, with Glasgow City occupying top spot courtesy of having played two more games. However, come 4pm on Sunday, City Head Coach Kate Cooper knows she would like a little extra breathing space for her side.

She said, “This is an important match for both teams. It is an opportunity for us to have a good competitive game to test our abilities and we are looking forward to it. Without doubt they are a very talented side, full of internationalists, but we are not a bad team either. We have both started the League campaign strongly, so this will be a great benchmark to see where we are. We will need to be at our best to get a result and three points will certainly help towards our pursuit of the title.”

Sundays Premier League Fixtures: Hibernian v Glasgow City, Edinburgh v Kilmarnock, Hamilton v Vale of Clyde, Celtic v Raith Rovers, Queens Park v Aberdeen.
