Three head to Cyprus
Three of Glasgow City’s first team have made the Scotland A squad trip to Cyprus in March – Megan Sneddon, Leanne Ross and Rachel Corsie.
Corsie joins regulars Sneddon and Ross, with City midfielder Sue Lappin on stand-by for the squad which heads out to Cyprus on the 2nd March for eleven days.
Last year’s Scotland Under 19 Captain, Corsie has made great strides this season with City and has matured very comfortably into her new role of centre half. Formerly known as a midfielder, Corsie has fantastic attributes for a central defensive role. She is strong, fast, good in the air and most notably is extremely comfortable with the ball on both feet. It is no doubt these qualities which have brought her to the attention of National Manager Anna Signeul.
Scotland will be in Cyprus to take part in the Cyprus Cup and will be facing some of the world’s top sides, most notably a match against the Auld enemy, England.
As well as three players, the City coaching staff along with Chairperson Carol Anne Stewart will also be with the national set-up in Cyprus to take part in the Scottish FA’s Coaching and Club Development work which will run alongside the Cup competition.
The full match schedule is:
