The Away End sponsor Rachel

Glasgow City are delighted to announce The Away End as a new sponsor for Captain Rachel Corsie for 2012.

The Away End is a website and magazine devoted to Scottish Football. In May of this year it went into partnership with the BA (Hons) Sports Journalism degree at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS), the only degree of its kind in Scotland. This now allows the Away End access to the state of the art facilities, as well as also using ‘The Away End’ as a teaching tool for the students.

The Away End however is not solely a UWS student based website and magazine. Other contributors are involved regularly producing articles on football for the www.theawayend.net from freelance writers, bloggers and students from other institutions.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Andrew Southwick from the Away End said,"Since the very beginning The Away End has been about backing the ambitions of young people in Scotland, and our link up with the University of the West of Scotland helps us realise that ambition on a daily basis.

"We're delighted to get the chance to help out one of our top young sportswomen too.

"We wish we could help them all, but if we can only back one then we've made a great choice. Rachel Corsie is not just a talented player but a double winning captain with international honours.

"We'll be delighted if some of her success can rub off on us too."
