Six Glasgow City girls in Scotland squads
Six Glasgow City youngsters have made the Scotland Under 17 and Scotland Under 19 teams.
In the Scotland Under 17 squad are striker Lisa Evans, midfielders Lauren McMurchie and Laura Murray, and defenders Eilish McSorley and Emma Mitchell.
Moving up to the Scotland Under 19 team is first choice goalkeeper Lee Alexander. Lee will accompany Glasgow City first team striker Ruesha Littlejohn who is also in the Under 19 international squad for the third successive season.
City Girls Coach Derek Murray was not surprised by the call-ups. He said, “We have a lot of very talented young players in our side and I would have expected a number of them to make it into the national teams. To have six players in our starting eleven part of the international set-up is fantastic and highlights the quality coming through at this club.”
