Ruesha Littlejohn hits 100 game landmark

Glasgow City and Republic of Ireland player Ruesha Littlejohn made her 100th competitive start in a Glasgow City jersey last Sunday when she lined up and scored against Spartans in City’s 8-1 SWPL win at Petershill.

Ruesha joined Glasgow City as a young 16 year old and is now in her third spell at the club having had periods with English sides Arsenal and Liverpool in between.

Commenting on her historic achievement, City Head Coach Eddie Wolecki Black said, “It is remarkable that at the age of only 23 years Ruesha has a prominent place in the clubs records.

“Having now started 100 games for the club she sits as the 15th player with most starts at this club and considering she has had two spells in England this is impressive. Her total of 110 goals in her time with City is significant in that only 4 players have scored more in the clubs history. Her name now sits proudly behind the likes of Suzanne Lappin, Leanne Ross, Jane Ross and Kat Lindner in the goal scoring charts. In her early days she was more an out and out goal scorer however as the game has changed then she has had to adapt. I believe she has developed into a better player and contributes outside the box as much as in it these days. I am sure before the end of this season she will have added to her tally in both goal scoring and appearance sections.“
