Rachel Corsie hits 100 League starts for Glasgow City

In the last few weeks, Glasgow City Captain Rachel Corsie has led her team to important League victories over title rivals Hibernian and Celtic. She also last Thursday Captained City to their first Cup Final of the season, following the 4-0 defeat of Forfar Farmington in the Premier League Cup Semi-Final. Amongst all of these important matches, Rachel started her 100th League game for Glasgow City, since moving from Aberdeen Ladies FC in the summer of 2008.

Commenting on this impressive achievement, Head Coach Eddie Wolecki Black said, “I think it shows remarkable consistently she has managed to rack up 100 starts for the club in such a short period of time. People tend to forget that Rachel is still only 22 years of age and is continuing to develop as a player. She is a regular internationalist and has captained both club and country, which shows an added value as being seen as a leader. I believe she has a lot more potential to fulfill and I'm certain the coming years will prove my belief in Rachel. I hope she will have many more appearances in a Glasgow City shirt and help us on our quest for more silverware.”
