Pollok Park success

Glasgow City enjoyed a very successful and fun day at Pollok Park promoting the club.

City had a stand in the activity area of the Park, as part of the Pollok Park Annual Family Day and the good weather ensured visitors in their thousands.

Keeper Laura Williamson and stand-in Ciara Barnes were in nets for Beat the Goalie, which proved one of the most popular events in the entire park, with a queue from the start of the day right until home time.

City also had target practice and a number of girls showing off their keepie up skills.

The tombola stall was completely sold out and City sold numerous City merchandise – umbrellas, pens, bags, clackers and signed balls.

City Captain Laura Montgomery commented on the day.

She said, “We are a local southside team, so it was great to promote the club and our recent success in our local area. All of the kids were amazed with our trophies and the girls were busy all day signing autographs and having their picture taken. We gave out over 1000 of our flyers which was also fantastic as it helps promote our new community coaching programme for young girls.

“Overall it was a fantastic day and something we will most definitely be doing again next year.”
