Oli and Katie in Scotland training camp

A massive congratulations to City youth players Oli Crawford and Katie Rice who have been invited to attend the Scotland Under 15 training camp on the 4th and 5th of September at Toryglen.

The City youngsters, who are still eligible this season at Under 13 are among and increasing depth of real young talent at Glasgow City as our youth set up flourishes with every passing month.

Their selection to attend the camp is just reward for hard work at training and their desire to be the best they can be.

Commenting on the news, Glasgow City Club Manager, Laura Montgomery said, “This is a very proud moment for everyone at the club as Katie and Oli become the first City youth players ever to be invited to a national squad training camp. We have a countless number of brilliant volunteers and coaches at our youth level and this is just reward for them as well as the girls themselves and their team mates. We have a number of players pushing hard to be included in the national set up and I have no doubt it won’t be long until we see a few more City faces involved. We place huge demands on our young players, but for good reason. We have strong philosophy at this club and it is driven right from the first team down to our very youngest players and you can see the strides all of our players have taken in the last 12 months alone. We appointed Amy McDonald recently as Head of Youth Development, a key indicator to the importance we place on our youth set up and our plans for further growth. It is an integral aspect of this club and the one which will hopefully continue to drive the kind of success our first team has enjoyed for the past 5 seasons.”
