Milestone achievements for Sue, Jane and Emma

Yesterday’s 8-1 defeat of Hibernian was an impressive performance from Glasgow City three days before they face the same side in the semi-final of the Henson Scottish Cup. However, not only was the scoreline and performance a notable achievement, three City players also made a few land mark achievements of their own.

Head Coach Eddie Wolecki Black commented, “Our preparation for the Scottish Cup semi-final went well. We managed to get the three points and in the process increase our lead at the top of the table. Interestingly a number of club and personal records were also broken. Firstly Sue Lappin made her second debut for the club and scored in what was her 200th start.

“Jane Ross also managed to get on the scoresheet and her third goal marked her 100th league goal for the club since signing as a youngster.

“In netting the first of her two penalties, full back,Emma Fernon scored her 50th goal for the club.

“Congratulations to all three players and in turn the team’s contribution also meant that we broke through the barrier of 1900 goals since our inception. A magnificent achievement for everyone involved with the club currently or part of our rich history.”
