Midfielder Ross scores City's 1000th League goal
Glasgow City midfielder Leanne Ross not only made Sunday’s 14-0 rout of Aberdeen a day of great personal achievement, with 8 of the teams goals in an impressive display, but also grabbed City’s 1000th League goal in the process when she netted her 6th on the day.
This is a pretty impressive total for City to have reached so quickly; averaging a goal haul of over 4 goals per game throughout the course of the past decade.
City manager Peter Caulfield commented, “A lot of very good players have contributed to this goal total over the years and to reach this milestone so quickly demonstrates the ethos of this club to produce positive attacking football teams. For Leanne Ross to notch the 1000th goal in what was a sensational performance from her on the day was also very fitting.”
