Megan wins award

A huge congratulations goes to Glasgow City and Scotland midfielder Megan Sneddon who was recently crowned East Kilbride Female Sports Personality of the Year for 2008.

Megan received her award at the official awards ceremony in East Kilbride last week and beat off some impressive competition to win the award for the first time.

Megan’s achievement was recognition of her success with Glasgow City and Scotland. Part of City’s Premier League Championship winning side in 2008, Megan also helped Glasgow City become the first Scottish women’s team ever to reach the last sixteen in Europe. Last November she also picked up a Premier League Cup Winners medal, when City overcame Spartans 3-0 in the final at Forthbank stadium. City were also crowned Glasgow Team of the Year 2008 and Megan herself won City’s Players Player and Manager’s Player of the Year trophies for season 2007/08.

As part of the Scotland set-up throughout

the junior pathway and then into the full

national team, Megan has amassed an

incredible 61 full senior international caps   despite being only 23 years old. Even more  amazing, is the fact she took a year out of

international football a few seasons ago, otherwise she would

surely have had many more international honours.
