Lorna MacLaren
Glasgow City mourn the sudden death of former player Lorna MacLaren.
Glasgow City players and staff were shocked to learn the terrible news of the death of one time City player Lorna MacLaren who sadly passed away last Wednesday. City have requested a minute’s silence at their match with Raith Rovers today and all players will feature black armbands.
Lorna was one of City’s first ever signings and played an important part in the team’s debut year as a football team, when they won the old Scottish West Division undefeated in season 1998/99, earning promotion to the Premier League. Lorna then played a full second season with City in the Premier, before retiring from playing, eventually taking up the role as Secretary of FC Kilmarnock.
Glasgow City would like to express their deepest sympathies to Lorna’s family and closest friends in what must be a harrowing time.
