Leanne Ross reaches 100 international caps
Glasgow City would like to extend an enormous congratulations to Vice Captain Leanne Ross who gained her 100th international cap for Scotland in Wednesday’s thrilling match against Chile.
Despite going down 4-3 on the night to their south American opponents, Leanne received her 100th international cap and City team mates Sarah Crilly and Christie Murray got on the scoresheet for Scotland.
Leanne made her debut for Scotland in 1996 against Switzerland and since then has gone on to be a pivotal member of the Scotland national team under the stewardship of current Manager Anna Signeul.
Commenting on her achievement, City Head Coach Eddie Wolecki Black said, “Over her career Leanne has achieved a lot. I can remember her gaining appearance number fifty for Scotland and now she has joined an elite group with a hundred caps for her country. We as a club are very proud of her consistency as that is what it takes to gain so many selections. It is clear Leanne is nearer the end of her career at 32 years of age rather than the beginning so opportunities will be limited but I really hope she can go to an international tournament before her career ends as I believe it is the only milestone left to achieve.
