Laura Williamson wins award
Congratulations to Glasgow City Coach Laura Williamson, who was honoured yesterday with Best Volunteer of the Year for Women’s and Girls Football
for the West Region.
Laura, who has been at Glasgow City since joining as a First Team Goalkeeper 5 years ago, started coaching with Glasgow City 3 years ago, combining coaching the City Under 13 side, along with playing for the record breaking first team, both at home and in Europe.
Despite having retired from first team football at the end of last season, Laura’s commitment to the game has not waivered and if anything has grown. She was promoted to be Lead Coach of the Glasgow City Reserves this season, whilst also assisting with the Under 13’s. This was just reward for not only her hard work, commitment and dedication but also most importantly for her coaching talent and potential in the game.
You will currently find Laura out of the house every single night of the week and every Saturday and Sunday, coaching for Glasgow City as she strives to help produce the next first team star of the future.
Glasgow City Football Club are extremely proud of their coaching staff and are thrilled that Laura has been recognised for her commitment and dedication to the game.
