Laura up for Sunday Mail award
Glasgow City’s Laura Montgomery has been shortlisted for the Sunday Mail and McDonald’s grass roots football award for 2010.
The award looks to uncover the unsung heroes of the game who put their life and soul into the sport they love.
Speaking of her nomination, Laura said, “I was very shocked when I got the call from the Sunday Mail to say that I had been nominated and was now shortlisted for the award. It is testament to the success the club has enjoyed since we began in 1998 and I am delighted that our game is being recognised and considered in this way. Glasgow City and women’s football, is my life and my passion and I am determined for not only our club, but for the game as a whole to rise to the very top and achieve the level of recognition, I strongly feel it deserves.”
Laura’s nomination was on page 60 of last weekend’s Sunday Mail. The winner will be chosen from a panel which includes Gordon Waddell from the Sunday Mail, football legend Kenny Dalglish and SFA Technical Director Jim Fleeting.
