Jess Fishlock named in NWSL best XI
Jess Fishlock, recently signed by Scottish Champions Glasgow City on loan from US professional side Seattle Reign, has been named in the prestigious best XI for the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) after their 2013 season.
The NWSL awards are voted on by a selection of journalists that cover the league on a consistent basis, club officials and NWSL players.
Voters for the Best XI provided selections for four (4) defenders and a combination of six (6) midfielders or forwards; with the ability to select a minimum of one (1) and a maximum of three (3) forwards.
Fishlock is the only Seattle Reign player named in the Best XI with this impressive accolade coming off the back of her recent award as the ‘Most Valuable Player’ in Reign’s own awards.
The Welsh Captain will make her Glasgow City debut this Sunday away to Aberdeen in the Scottish Women’s Premier League. She will make her home debut on Sunday 15th September against Rangers at Petershill Park, Glasgow, G21 4DD. Entrance to the Rangers match is by cash gate. Adults £5, Concessions £3, Kids Go Free.
