Henson Scottish Cup Final preview
It is the pinnacle of the Scottish Women’s Football calendar and the last game of the season tomorrow as Glasgow City take on Forfar Farmington in the final of the Henson Scottish Cup at Airdrie’s Excelsior Stadium.
The 2pm kick off will see the start of a match which will either end with Cup holders City, finishing the campaign with a remarkable domestic treble, our first time finalists, Forfar picking up their first ever major silverware after a remarkable season which has seen them finish runners-up to City in the Premier League.
With City Captain Rachel Corsie out injured, stand in skipper Leanne Ross will lead her team out for what she has no doubts will be a very tough game for her side. She said, “We are really looking forward to the match. There is no extra pressure being favourites as we are more than used to that tag now. It is fantastic that the final is being contested by the country’s two top sides and we know how difficult a match this will be. Forfar are so well organised and defend very well, so they will as always be very tough to break down. This is a massive game for both teams and certainly we will be going all out for a win to finish the season in style.”
