Glasgow City win opening Champions League match against Osijek

Glasgow City came from behind twice to eventually win 3-2 against Croatian Champions WFC Osijek in Helsinki today.
A poor Glasgow City first half performance meant the Scottish side trailed 1-0 at half time and although they were enjoying the majority of the possession an early goal for the Croatians meant they sat back looking to break on the counter attack and were proving difficult to break down.
City got back on level terms on 66 minutes as centre half Danica Dalziel forced the ball over the line at the back post after Jane Ross had crossed the ball following a move from a City corner kick.
However no sooner had City got back in the game they made an error at the back, gifting Osijek a goal to take the lead again with only 16 minutes remaining.
But City dug deep and continued to heavily press Osijek and four minutes later Dalziel scored again, this time firing low into the bottom corner from the edge of the box after a City free kick.
With ten minutes remaining, midfielder Leanne Crichton headed inches past the post but when it counted up stepped Emma Mitchell to score a quite magnificent winner for the Scottish Champions.
From a free kick wide out of the right hand side and 25 yards from goal, Mitchell hit a powerful and unstoppable left foot shot straight into the opposite top corner to give City a 3-2 lead and ultimately the win they craved.
