City v Spartans
Glasgow City take on Spartans tomorrow in the Scottish Women’s Premier League and with City having defeated Spartans in last weekend’s Premier League Cup Final, City boss Peter Caulfield is looking for more of the same from his players.
He said, “We were outstanding in the Final. We dominated the entire game and I feel our 3-0 victory was actually not a true reflection on just how one-sided the match really was. I asked the girls simply to show how good side they truly are and they responded. Our wide players Kat Lindner and Jane Ross were unstoppable in the Final and caused Spartans no end of problems. If I can get anything like a repeat performance from those two again, I am very confident of three points on Sunday. Winning the League Cup was great. Our aim is the treble so we are part of the way there. However, the League always is our number one priority out of all three competitions and so Sunday becomes our most important game so far this season. The League is very tight between Spartans, Celtic and ourselves right now, so three points on Sunday will be massive.”
