City v Celtic at Petershill
The tie of the Third Round of the Unite Scottish Cup between Glasgow City and Celtic has been moved to Petershill Juniors, Springburn on Sunday kick off 2pm.
Due to the prestige of two of Scotland’s top sides meeting so early in the Cup, the decision was taken to move the game from City’s normal venue at Glasgow Green to the more high profile accommodation at Petershill to help accommodate the expected crowd.
The last few times these teams have met, both in the League and in the Cup, the games have been a fantastic spectacle of football and have been well attended.
It is hoped this Sunday’s encounter follows the pattern of the previous matches this season. Last October City got the better of Celtic in the Semi-Final of the League Cup, defeating the Hoops 3-1. However only a month later, Celtic got their revenge in the League defeating City, the current Premier League Champions 2-1.
Without doubt Celtic are the in-form team at the moment but City hope to re-capture some of their early season form and pull a surprise against the favourites.
Entrance on Sunday is FREE.
