City to face Celtic in Cup

Glasgow City will kick off the new season with a home first round draw against Celtic in the Premier League Cup.

Scheduled for a 2pm kick off at Petershill Park on Sunday 13th March, the match will represent the fifth season in a row that City and Celtic have been drawn together in the opening rounds of the Premier League Cup competition.

Commenting on the draw, City Head Coach Eddie Wolecki Black said, “It’s remarkable how the cup competitions have consistently drawn us together. Celtic, as holders, will be determined to hold onto the trophy and we really couldn't have had it any tougher. They have really pushed us hard for the league over the past three years and it has taken almost perfect seasons to hold them off each time. They are very good side who are well organised and very strong. Of course they know we will go out to attack and we know they will play to counter-attack, something they do very well, therefore I don't think there will be any surprises. I hope it will be a fantastic match and a great advert for the women’s game.
