Glasgow City set sights back on the SWPL
Following League Cup Final victory over Hibernian midweek, Glasgow City return to League action this Sunday against Celtic at Lennoxtown for a 4pm kick off.
The Glasgow rivals sit six points apart with City leading the table and Celtic in third. A win for the hoops would significantly boost their title challenge before the League moves to a mid-season split and with an impressive win over Hamilton Accies in their last match, Celtic will be confident they are capable of an upset.
City Captain Leanne Ross is well aware of the threat posed by Celtic and knows that she and her team mates must quickly focus back on the League after their Cup Final triumph.
She said, “After our midweek Cup success spirits in the camp are understandably high. We are well aware however that celebrations will have to wait as we return to League business against Celtic on Sunday. We are preparing for a tough game against a Celtic side who like ourselves are a good mix of talented youth & experience. Hopefully we can continue our recent good form & give the supporters of both clubs an exciting & competitive game to enjoy.”
