Glasgow City prepare to face in-form Aberdeen

Glasgow City travel north this Sunday to take on an in-form Aberdeen side, with new signing Jess Fishlock expected to make her debut.

Aberdeen have been impressive since the mid-season break, with a draw against Celtic followed by back to back wins against Spartans and Rangers and are one point behind third in the SWPL table.

City meanwhile sit 7 points clear at the top of the SWPL and with a game in hand as they aim to continue their quest for their seventh straight Premier League crown.

Commenting on the challenge facing his side, First Team Assistant Coach Donald Jennow said, "Last weeks’ result was very pleasing for all at the club. It was yet another step towards our goal of retaining the title. What is also important for us is that, with so many important games coming one after another, we keep up the momentum we have built since the break.

“This week has seen the arrival of Jess to the squad and it has definitely added an edge to training. I labelled this squad as the strongest we have ever had a few weeks ago and Jess makes it stronger still ahead of our trip up to Aberdeen. We are glad to have her here and hope she can help us achieve the success we strive for.

“Aberdeen have had a number of excellent results this year. Securing their place in the top 6 for a second season, and their results since then, prove they are a dangerous side. I expect them to be well organised and compact, as they have been in previous games against us. Therefore we will need to be patient and creative in our play in order to break them down.

“They have also added some quality to their side recently which will give them another dimension we will have to prepare for."
