City players proudly help Scotland to victory
It was a notable day for Scotland and Glasgow City today as the national team played and won their first ever game in Aberdeen as they defeated Cameroon 2-0. Glasgow City had 5 players involved in the match, including midfielder Jo Love who proudly led the team as Captain to victory and Eilish McSorley who made her senior Scotland debut.
Love, earning her 118th Cap, also scored the second goal of the day with minutes remaining when she fired an exquisite 25 yard lob into the top right hand corner. Scotland had earlier gone ahead through a Cameroon own goal.
City players involved were Emma Mitchell, Leanne Ross, Nicky Docherty, Eilish and Jo.
The City players will return to team duty now as Glasgow City continue their preparations for the UEFA Women’s Champions League in August when they fly to Finland to take on Finnish Champions PK-35 Vantaa, Croatian Champions WFC Osijek and Moldovan Champions FC Noroc Nimoreni.
