City lose opening match
Glasgow City lost 5-2 to top German side Bayern Munich today in their first match of the UEFA Women's Champions League.

Top seeds Bayern started the game strongly and went in 2-0 up at half time. City showed the German's far too much respect in the first half, but the second period was a different affair with City dominating from the start.
Within minutes City had a goal back when Jane Ross brilliantly lobbed the Bayern keeper in the box. City continued to press, but saw a number of chances go agonisingly wide, until substitute Ruesha Littlejohn set the game alight with a fantastic strike with fourteen minutes to go. Littlejohn controlled a through ball at the edge of the box before turning the two German central defenders and unleashing a fantastic left foot strike into the top corner.
City's delight was short lived when within 10 seconds of the re-start Bayern put themselves in front again. It was a pivotal moment in the game and the disappointment from every City player was clearly visible.
Deflated and pushing once more for the equaliser, City opened up and were punished by a further two goals.
City Head Coach Eddie Wolecki said, "When Ruesha scored, I was sure we had them. We speak so often about not switching off when we score so to go behind within 10 seconds of the re-start was criminal. Up until they scored their third goal, we were in control and they were panicking. However, what has happened we cannot change. We need to pick oursleves up and learn from our mistakes for Saturday."
City play hosts Gintra on Saturday.
