City Head Coach gives his thoughts on the Noroc game and the challenge ahead

After two wins in two matches, Glasgow City go into their final group game against Finnish Champions PK-35 Vantaa, knowing only another win is guaranteed to see them progress into the knock-out stages of the last 32 of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Both City and PK-35 have now defeated Osijek of Croatia and Noroc Nimoreni of Moldova, meaning a final match showdown is set up for the climax of the Group.

Commenting on his side’s win over Noroc and the final match ahead, Head Coach Eddie Wolecki Black said, “I was really delighted that we were able to change the team with 7 personnel changes and 8 positional changes. We started at a high tempo and it set the tone for the whole game. We dominated possession of the ball and created numerous chances and I was delighted for Jennifer Callaghan and Ashley McDonald for getting goals on their first European campaign. If we are honest we always knew it would come down to the last game to decide the winners of the group and we are in that position now. It is all in our own hands and we are all looking forward to the match.”

Glasgow City play PK-35 Vantaa on Thursday 16th with kick off at 4pm UK time. You can follow the match live on Glasgow City’s twitter @GlasgowCityFC
