City Girl's in their first ever semi-final

Glasgow City Girls take on Falkirk on Wednesday night in the SWFL League Cup Semi-Final at Forthbank Stadium, Stirling.

Despite this being only their first season in existence, City Girls have started the campaign brilliantly, winning all of their matches and are already in their first ever semi-final.

City face a stern test to reach the final, lining up against First Division side Falkirk. As well as being a whole division above the City youngsters, Falkirk are an experienced side and Manager RIchie Evans knows it will be a tough match.

He said, “Without a doubt Falkirk are a quality side. They are in the First Division, and as a new side to the League set-up this year, we are in the Second. They have started this season very strongly, like us having won all of their matches. In the League their 100% record shows only 2 matches played with 15 goals scored and none conceded. We are undoubtedly the underdogs in this match, but will give it everything we have. We have an excellent squad of players and on their day are a match for anyone. The semi-final will be a big occasion for our girls but if we remain focussed, we may just surprise one or two people. Making the semi-final is fantastic considering our girls have only been playing together for a few months, but being in the final is where we really want to be”.
