City Girls boast five in Euro squad
Glasgow City Girls excellent start to the season has been rewarded with an incredible five players picked for the Scotland Under 17 squad due to head out in a few weeks to Belarus for the First Qualifying Round of the UEFA Under 17 European Championships.
Defenders Eilish McSorley and Emma Mitchell, midfielders Lauren McMurchie and Laura Murray, and striker Lisa Evans have all made the squad for Scotland’s Group 8 qualification campaign.
In a group of four, Scotland will face Israel, Belarus and Switzerland over a six day period and will be hoping they can do enough to progress to the second Qualifying Round which will start sometime after March 2009.
The match schedule is as follows:
18 October Scotland v Israel Kick Off 12.00pm Torpedo, Minsk, Belarus
20 October Belarus v Scotland Kick Off 2.30pm Darida, Minsk, Belarus
23 October Scotland v Switzerland Kick Off 12.00pm Torpedo, Minsk, Belarus
