Girls blitz their way into the quarter finals
Glasgow City Girls today demolished Paisley Saints 17-0 in the third round of the SWFL League Cup to blitz their way into the quarter finals of the competition.
With the score an incredible 8-0 at half time, the City girls continued their goal scoring streak, adding another nine in the second half.
Goal scorers were Lisa Evans -6, Ashley Morgan – 3, Emily Goodwin – 2, Emma McMonigle – 2, Laura Murray – 1, Emma Mitchell – 1, Eilish McSorley - 1, Sarah Major - 1.
Coach Derek Murray was once again delighted with his side. He said, “There is an awful lot of talent in this team and we proved that today. As I have said before, it is not easy to keep playing your own game when a big scoreline develops, but the girls are well disciplined and continued to do their jobs. I am sure the next round won’t not be quite as comfortable as today, but we eagerly await the draw to see who we get.”
