City v Raith Rovers
This Sunday Glasgow City travel to play Raith Rovers in a re-scheduled fixture.
Raith have been struggling this season and currently prop up the Premier Division, something however that City boss Peter Caulfield does not want his team to focus on.
He said, “Over the past number of years, Raith have usually sat quite comfortably mid-table. However some poor results before the winter break have put them at the bottom of the League. Like any team in that position they are now scrapping for every point and Sunday will be difficult, especially given that their pitch is not usually one of the best for a good passing game of football.”
While City defeated Celtic in the Cup last Sunday, Raith narrowly lost out to First Division League leaders Rangers, with the match going to extra-time, another reason Caulfield stresses his side need to be careful.
He said, “Rangers are riding high in the First Division and are odds on favourites for promotion. They have signed a lot of Premier League standard players, so the fact that Raith took them to extra time highlights the good side that Raith can be on their day. Sunday’s match is most definitely not one we will be taking lightly.”
