City v Hamilton Cup Semi-Final

Glasgow City will take on Hamilton Accies in the Scottish Cup Semi-Final at Toryglen on Wednesday, kick off 7.00pm.

Both sides will take to the field for the first time on the new playing surfaces at Toryglen, but it will not be the first time they have faced each other this season. Already having played two league matches this season, City have the advantage with a 5-1 away win and 6-0 home win under their belts.

Despite City’s dominance in the League, boss Peter Caulfield knows his team cannot take anything from granted. He said, “Hamilton have done very well to reach the semi-final and will not have got this far to step aside when a place in the showpiece final of the season is up for grabs. The Scottish Cup Final is arguably the best event in our domestic set-up and it is the one occasion all of the teams want to be involved in. Anything can happen in a one off game and we will need to be at our very best to have any chance of booking our place in the final.”

The other semi-final will also take place at Toryglen, with Rangers taking on Spartans on Thursday 16th April, kick off 7.30pm.

The final is scheduled for Sunday 17th May, with Forthbank Stadium, Stirling, rumoured to be the host stadium.
