City stroll against Newcastle

Glasgow City welcomed English side Newcastle United to Toryglen yesterday and comfortably won 13-2 against the visitors.

With some City regulars still on the treatment table and a couple unavailable, the Newcastle friendly gave City duo Peter Caulfield and Eddie Wolecki, the chance to field some of City's Reserve stars and the management team were not disappointed.

8-0 up at half time, City took their foot off the pedal second half and as a    precaution, took off a number of players who suffered slight knocks. City       also chose to play the last twelve minutes with only ten players on the pitch as a valuable learning experience for Scotland's treble winners.

Goalscorers were Leanne Ross (5), Suzanne Malone (4), Sue Lappin (2), Clare Gemmell (1) and Jane Ross (1) (pen).

City's Reserves will today face Forfar Farmington Premier League outfit at Forfar's new training ground at Marketmuir.
