Glasgow City sign Clare Gemmell
Premier League Champions Glasgow City have signed midfielder Clare Gemmell from rivals Celtic.
City boss Peter Caulfield expressed his delight in capturing the talented 22 year old. He said, “Clare is a fantastic player and we are over the moon to have her join us. I have admired her for some time now and actually tried to sign her two summers ago when she was with Newburgh. She suits our style of play in that she is very composed on the ball and can pick a pass. She is also left sided, which is one of the few things I felt was missing from our side. Clare is a great addition to what is already an extremely talented squad of players. We want to retain the League title and improve on our success from last year. We have already lifted the Premier League Cup, so we are part on the way to achieving our objectives and Clare will hopefully help us lift some more trophies.”
Clare will be in the City squad to face Kilmarnock tonight at Glasgow Green. Kick Off 8pm.
