Glasgow City youth teams launched
Scottish Champions Glasgow City have officially launched their new youth teams and from the start of the new season in March will have teams at Under 13 and Under 15 level.
City hosted an end of season youth tournament at Toryglen Regional Football Centre last Saturday to coincide with the launch of their new set-up. The Under 13 tournament saw sides from Central, West & South West leagues compete throughout the day. There was plenty of ability on show and over 200 spectators looked on as Glasgow City defeated Falkirk U13's 1-0 in the Final.
City began their Youth Initiative with the advent of their coaching in the community programme and the Club's Youth Coaches have quickly blended a group of experienced U13 girls with others new to the game to form Girls teams that can compete to a decent standard. Glasgow City’s new U13 & U15 squads will play in the Scottish Women’s Youth League in season 2010
City’s new set up, now means that they have four sides in total – Under 13, Under 15, Reserves and First Team. If you would like to get involved in the City set-up in any way shape or form, please contact our chairperson - chairperson@glasgowcityladiesfc.co.uk stating your interest.
