Fiona and Abbi head to UEFA U19 European Championship Finals
Glasgow City first team players Fiona Brown and Abbi Grant have been selected as part of a strong 18 player Scotland squad for the UEFA Under 19 European Championship Finals in Norway.
The squad departs on Friday and are part of an 8 team Championship finals. Scotland are in Group A and will face Norway, Netherlands and Belgium as our young guns aim to qualify out of the group and reach the semi-finals for the first time ever. Scotland had to progress through two previous qualifying round group stages and are a very talented attack minding team, scoring 38 goals in their six qualifiers, 13 more than any other team.
Scotland have a very impressive record of reaching the Under 19 Finals with this being our fourth ever time in our history, but we have yet to record a win and as is expected at this elite level, Scotland face a tough group with teams such as Norway having been runners-up on three previous occasions.
It is Europe’s elite youth international tournament and we wish Abbi and Fiona and the rest of the Under 19’s the very best of luck.
