Emma ready to face Konin

City defender Emma Black helped show off the club’s new SWPL trophy to celebrate their 8th title in a row, but admits she and her team mates still have a lot of work to do this season, if they want to meet their ambitions.
City trail Polish side Medyk Konin 2-0 after an away leg defeat in the last 32 of the Champions League and need to overturn that result on Wednesday night when they take on Konin at Airdrie Excelsior Stadium for the return leg. Vice Captain Emma Black will be wearing the arm band on Wednesday in place of injured Captain Leanne Ross and knows the team have a mountain to climb, but feels it is not out of reach.
She said, “We all believe we deserved more last week away from home. We had enough chances to win the match, let alone get an away goal, but sadly we didn’t take our opportunities and made a couple of errors which they fully took advantage of. The number of chances created though, shows we can get goals against this team and we are all fired up for this one. We reached the last 16 last year and we want to be there again. We will definitely be giving it all we have got to make it happen on Wednesday night.”
Glasgow City take on Medyk Konin on Wednesday 15th October, 7.30pm at Airdrie Excelsior Stadium. Entry is priced £5 adults, £2 kids and you can pay at the turnstile.
