Elaine Dawson
It is with deep sadness that Glasgow City announce the recent passing of Elaine Dawson.
Elaine was one of our longest serving volunteers, having been with the club for almost ten years. She fulfilled many roles within the club, but most notably was the first team match secretary and the referee co-ordinator for the club. In the last year she had also taken on further responsibility, assisting with the match organisation of our youth teams.
Elaine has been present at all of our club’s major successes and travelled to every Champions League match with the first team and indeed it will be strange not to have her with us in only a few weeks’ time when we go to Serbia.
I speak on behalf of everyone who has ever been involved with Glasgow City when I say that her dedication and commitment to helping the club at all times was unsurpassed and she will be sadly missed not just by Glasgow City but by the wider game in general.
Our thoughts and love go out to her family and most importantly to her mum.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday 26th July at Linn Crematorium at 1.30pm. Elaine's family have requested that flowers are not sent.
Elaine, we hope you are at peace. We will miss you….....
