Eddie is pleased with improvement

With the League season for 2012 now over, City Head Coach, Eddie Wolecki Black gives his thoughts on his team and how he is delighted with their year on year improvement.

He said, “Having now completed another League programme I think now is a good a time to reflect back upon the progress the club has made every year. The stats are there in black and white, and our league campaigns have shown improvement. Every year has seen a decrease in goals conceded and bar one season an increase in goals scored.

“Our League averages per game throughout my 6 seasons at the club are as follows:

2007/08       5.0 goals for, 0.8 against
2008/09       5.3 goals for, 0.6 against
2009            6.5 goals for, 0.45 against
2010            8.4 goals for, 0.3 against
2011            6.8 goals for, 0.3 against
2012            7.0 goals for, 0.3 against

“This season the league was reconstructed to allow the top teams to have more competitive fixtures, with the League splitting into a top and bottom six. This meant we played the top six teams three times instead of the previous twice and the bottom six teams only once. I am delighted to say that this group of players rose to the challenge and for the second season running won every single game. To do that whilst maintaining the goals against column and improving the goals for column is an incredible achievement.

“In years to come people will talk about this team and how they have done what very few manage in a life time. A team who for two seasons, had two perfect records. I must congratulate the girls for this fantastic achievement.”
