Denise O'Sullivan extends her stay with the Champions
Glasgow City are thrilled to announce that midfielder Denise O’Sullivan has signed up to extend her stay at the club for another two years.
The 20 year old Republic of Ireland international first joined City in the summer of 2013 and has simply got better and better becoming a pivotal part in the club’s success this season, which saw Glasgow City lift the domestic treble and reach the Quarter Finals of the Champions League.
In addition to winning the Glasgow City Club Awards of Players’ Player of the Year, Coaches’ Player of the Year and Fans Player of the Year, the Cork native also picked up the SWPL Players’ Player of the Year to round off a fantastic season for City’s number 7.
Commenting on securing Denise at the club, Head Coach Eddie Wolecki Black said, “There is no doubt that 2014 was personally a superb campaign for Denise. The true reflection upon any season is how your fellow team mates view your performances. The fact that Denise cleaned up the clubs three senior awards speaks volumes. However whilst it is a great accolade I am sure Denise would be the first to acknowledge the part her team mates played in her success. Therefore it does not surprise me that she has turned down lucrative offers elsewhere to remain at this club. The old saying of the grass ain't always greener seems quite appropriate at the moment.
“We are well aware of what this coming season means to us in terms of the League and also the European challenge. I am sure everyone associated with the club will be delighted to see Denise wearing the tangerine jersey again next season and I hope it proves to be another successful season for all.”
Denise said, “I am delighted to sign back with Glasgow City. I have really enjoyed my time at the club so far. I definitely think I'm improving as a player from being at this club and I look forward to the Champions League and the new season with City.”
