City welcome Forfar and Sky Sports
Glasgow City will begin the defence of the Premier League title tomorrow when they welcome Forfar Farmington and Sky Sports to Glasgow Green for the first League match of the new season.
This campaign, City are going for four titles in a row as the women’s game fully launches into their change of season, with all women’s and girls’ teams playing from March to November, instead of the traditional August to June. Sky Sports will be there filming the game for Sky Sports News.
With every domestic trophy for the past two seasons in the cabinet, City boss Peter Caulfield knows his side are the team to beat. He said, “We have done very well over the past few years in particular, but this season we know will be even tougher. Every team is raising their performance and we need to also be at a new level, which I feel we are. We had a very good pre-season and now just need games. The squad is also strengthened and competition for places is tough. Forfar are a tricky team, who defend very well and are organised. They finished fifth last season, their highest ever placing, so we will take absolutely nothing for granted and will need to be fully focused to get the campaign off to a winning start.”
The match will take place at Glasgow Green on Sunday at 2pm, with spectators able to view for free.
