City head to Germany for European pre-season

The teams have been announced who are taking part in German giants Turbine Potsdam international ‘Meet the Champions’ tournament at the end of January, which Scottish Champions Glasgow City are taking part in for the second year in a row.   
     

The invitation-only tournament, features some of Europe’s top sides and this year’s competition sees the return of six teams, along with two new faces. Returning sides are last year’s tournament winners and Danish Champions Brøndby, Czech Republic Champions AC Sparta Praha, top Finnish outfit FC Honka Espoo, Austria’s best side and current Champions League Quarter Finalists NöSV Neulengbach, along with Glasgow City and hosts Turbine Potsdam. Making their debut in the competition are Hungarian side MTK Hungária FC who reached the knock-out stages of the Champions League this year, along with famous Swiss side BSC Young Boys Bern.

The format will be similar to last year for the indoor tournament, with the 8 teams being split into two groups, with placement matches deciding the winners. The tournament will be played over two days (25th and 26th January) in front of a sell-out 2000 strong crowd and the MBS Arena in Potsdam.

Glasgow City will know who they will face on Monday when the Group stages are drawn.
