City face Irish tomorrow

Glasgow City will take on the hosts, Irish Champions Crusaders Newtonabbey Strikers, tomorrow in the first match of their Group 7 UEFA Champions League opening round.

City arrived on Tuesday and are well prepared ahead of their first test. Boss Peter Caulfield, who leads his side into their third successive year in the Champions League, is confident his players know what is expected of them.

He said, “Every City player with the exception of two, have experience at this level in the Champions League and that is crucial for us. These matches are nothing like domestic football. The pressure is immense and also the standard of opposition is some of the best in Europe. The Champions League is the highlight of our year and we are determined to give an excellent account of ourselves..”
