Under 15's lose to Celtic
Glasgow City 15’s lost 11-1 tonight to Celtic 15’s.
Tonight’s match was always going to be tough for the new City side as in Celtic, they faced an experienced and very strong team with a number of internationalists.
Despite this, City once more played well and irrespective of the score, on occasions passed and moved the ball well, to the delight of their coaches. The problem however, was when City lost possession and credit to Celtic who fully capitalised on this, with Chloe Arthur, in particular, making it a tough evening for the City defence.
City’s goal came from Lauren Ray who hit a magnificent 25 yard lob over the Celtic keeper and into the back of the net. Once again, irrespective of the scoreline, Sophie Campbell in the City goals, pulled off some great saves and her kicking from feet was excellent.
Coach Stuart Glover commented, “"I felt the girls played amazing tonight and even although it was a hard game for them, as the majority of the Celtic team play at Under 15 international level, our girls were on high spirits before, during and even after game and I am delighted with their efforts.”
