City Under 13's win at Drumchapel
Glasgow City Under 13’s travelled to St Peter Apostle High School yesterday to take on Drumchapel Red’s and came back 6-1 winners.
City started the game well and were playing a good passing game. This paid off when Kayleigh McHugh scored from a short sharp passing move. McHugh was on form this half and scored City’s second with a header from a Lauren Simmons cross.
Simmons then turned provider to goalscorer when she hit the back of the net after some excellent individual work.
Half time 0-3.
In the second half, City continued to dominate and further improved their passing game. Substitute striker Sarah Tracey, who came on at half time scored just after the restart getting on the end of a through ball and slotting it past the keeper.
Tracey then added another a few minutes later when some good combination play resulted in her second of the day and City’s fourth.
City continued to create chances, but it was Drumchapel who scored next when a deflected shot ended up in the City net.
The last goal of the game came just before full time when Laura Parks hit the back of the net with a fine strike.
