City Under 15's narrowly lose to Falkirk
Glasgow City Under 15's were narrowly defeated 1-0 by Falkirk Academy yesterday.
Playing on the main pitch at the Falkirk Stadium, City were unfortunate to get off to the worst start possible, losing the only goal of the game within two minutes of the referee's first whistle.
It was the only breach of the City backline who defended solidly throughout the whole match with Sophie Campbell making some excellent saves in the City nets.
In attack, City created a number of chances themsleves. In particular, Sarah Burrows was very unlucky not to beat the Falkirk keeper
after running through on goal, and a great pass from Ambur Clark released Lauren Dunn but the City player saw her shot agonisingly cannon off the crossbar.
Commneting on the match, City Coach Stuart Glover said, " Kirsty and I were delighted with the girls performance. Playing on such a big, full size pitch did have a impact on them we feel, but it was great to see them have the opportunity to take to the field at a famous stadium. They passed and moved the ball well with their parents cheering them on from the stands. Unfortunately the game took its toll injury wise as Abigail Park broke her finger and Lauren Ray appears to have tweaked her hamstring."
